- Chapter II-2 — fire protection/detection/extinction (ties to FPFF training)
- Chapter III — life-saving appliances and arrangements (ties to PST / survival craft familiarisation)
- Chapter IV — awareness that distress alerting uses GMDSS/radio systems (overview level)
BST itself is an STCW training package; SOLAS is why the ship carries the equipment you train on.
